Slowing Down, Giving Away, Saying Thanks

While many other people are gearing up for the start of the school year, my daughter and I are slowing down. As the days get cooler we'll be able to spend more time outside enjoying walks, feeding ducks, spotting animals, visiting the Farmer's Market, and seeing what we can cook with our prizes. I just love Autumn. :)

So, I am starting a countdown. 29 days left until we start looking for the leaves to change and set our hearts toward reflecting on our many blessings in this life. In honor of this countdown, my scrapbook table is splashed with buttery yellows, shimmery gold, rich cranberry, leafy green, and all the deep luxurious colors of Autumn.

I hope to spend a little time creating everyday, but I'm sure moving into a new house will bring a few exceptions. For today's Autumn fix you can pop over to my etsy store, and treat yourself to a small token of this beautiful time of year. Thank you to all who have already picked up items last night and this morning.

To show my gratitude for all my blogger friends and buyers, I have decided to have a little give-away: 2 bottles of Ranger Alcohol Ink, a bottle of blending solution, and one Rascally Cat handmade tag.

Please leave a comment by Friday (8.29) at noon, and share one thing you plan to thank someone for this week. :) I will put the name of each person into a hat, and have my 2 year old pick Friday after nap time. :)

Something Fun Coming

I have been working on something new for my blog and Etsy store this week. I will just give you a little sneak peek.

Hello! Is that not the cutest little Autumn tag ever? I had so much fun making some mini-items, and can't wait to share. Look for a new update here and in the store Monday. :) Grace and Peace to you all. Dee2

August Update

This has been a busy month for me. We're in the middle of the home-buying process, and planning to move within the week. So most of my scrap supplies are boxed up, and crying out to be unpacked. I am so excited because I will have my own room. I've never had a room of my own before that I could do whatever I want with.

I have been sketching my dream room. lol It is a fantasy, but I figure I can try to recreate some of the elements. I will have to see if I can get a picture of the sketch scanned in for my next post. Meanwhile here are the curtains I bought (the white ones). They have tiny green leaves that don't show up in the pic.

This is the chaise that I want. I really like the white because it says "No hubby or toddlers should be sitting here." Feel free to send me ideas of what to add to the fantasy.
I have some pics of one project from earlier in the month that didn't make it to my blog. It is in my Etsy store if you're interested. :) At first I was just going to make it a fun and bright girl album, but I didn't really have any embellishments for that so it is a 1st year calendar for photos.

Here is a cover shot of a custom order that I am slowly working on in between packing and working with my daughter. It took me forever to come up with an idea for a Seaworld album as the supplies out there look kind of cheesy. Don't you like my water buttons? I was so proud of this idea, although it took me forever to thread them all. Oh, and I hand drew and cut that Shamu. Oooh lala someone take me to Seaworld. I really love Seaworld. I could go 10 times a year and still love it!

A little pic of some of my recent scrap acquisitions. :) They make me happy.

Oh, and I've been toying with changing my eBay ID from FairRoe to BrownPaperPackaging to match my blog and Etsy store. Any input?

So that's all I have for now. My next update will probably be from a new house! Happy Scrapping. Dee2

Haunted House

I am ready for summer to end already! I just hate the heat here. Yesterday was somewhere around 104 degrees, and who knows how bad the humidity was. I'm melting, melting!

When my LSS got Cosmo Cricket's new Haunted line in, it seemed to be the perfect opportunity to jump into fall and ignore the heat. :)

I hand drew and pieced this Haunted House album together. It took me forever to get the binding just right, and I don't plan to make another. We'll see. ;)

Okay, I am terribly proud of my little curtains. Aren't they just adorable? They're made out of Rusty Pickle black lace, and some twine.

I just love the way these flowers turned out with these brads. Can you see the tiny shimmery bat hanging off the flowers?

These tombstones were from actual cemeteries, except the Colden Burried. (Thought I should add I know that's not how buried is spelled!) They totally amused me. :) There are more pages if you check out the album here. I know this is different from my other work. I hope you like! Dee2
