Friend Challenge

The challenge was for the designers to pair up, and each set use the same embellishment. My partner Zoe and I chose this Maya Road 100% Girl Wheel.

I love how earthy and feminine the cover turned out. At first I tried staining the wheel with Alcohol inks, but it looked awful. I took all the ink off, and decided to just try some subtle bling. The only thing I would change is to use pink stickles instead of silver. I don't have any though, so silver it is! :)

I mixed several patterned papers sets. I love this striped paper from Fancy Pants.

I love using all my edge punches and now I have a new tool that corrugates paper. Trying to figure out the best way to use it.

50% of this ebay sale will go to World Vision. I have been donating about 10% of my sales every month to them, but I thought I'd try to kick it up a bit more if I can. Hope you like this one.

The Quest for Mojo

I was feeling a bit burned out on paper bag albums, and looking for something a bit different to work on. Turns out these cute Box Albums by Maya Road were just the right ticket.

This Princess album was inspired by a really outgoing buyer I've enjoyed emailing. I wanted it to subtle and feminine.

This was the first I got to use this girly paper, and I just love the mix of the pinks, blues, and greens.

This is for a friend of mine. :) I was orginally going to make a Prince album, but I really wanted to play with this grungy boy paper.

It turned out just right. Reminds me of my silly brothers. :)

I also finished up a paper bag album that has been lingering on my shelf for months and months now. I had forgotten how close to completion it was. All I did last night was glue it down. lol

I'm sure my Mom will appreciate this cover as she has three boys who have just topped each other with their crazy antics through the years.

Two are on my ebay if you're interested. Hope you like! Dee Dee

Bear with Me

I had a dream last night. I know this is where most people stop reading. Please bear with me.

I dreamed that M, Sofie, and I were at a gymnastics meeting in a large concrete gym in the country. There was nothing in any direction for miles around. When the competition let out, about a hundred of us started pouring out of the gym. We were all startled by the swirling angry clouds.

It was clear that deadly weather was imminent.

Most of us ran back in the building with our children - terrified. M was not one of them. I ran back outside with Sofie to tell him to come inside. 20 men stood frozen in my path.

Directly in front of us was a pitch black storm descending from thousands of miles into the sky and stretching for miles across. Everywhere it touched the ground it sparked with hateful fire, and dull smoke swirled around its perimeter .

It was headed directly for us.

I could barely breathe. Two families jumped in their cars and tried to speed off. The monster storm sent tornados to snap them up.

I grabbed Sofie, who seemed unaware of the storm, and ran inside with Michael. People were cowering in fear and helplessness. The walls of the gym began to shake, and I sensed hopelessness.

A man called to us calmly. "Come sit. We are covering our children." With a curious peace, Michael and I walked over to this man and two women who were leaning over their three children younger than Sofie. I knelt down and covered Sofie and my lap. We all joined hands and began to pray.

Then it all went quiet.

A voice spoke to me. "The Lord is raging against the Earth. Flooding in the Midwest, earthquakes in the West, tsunamis in the East, blizzards in the North, and hurricanes in South. Do you think you can escape His wrath? Flee the coming wrath, turn to Him."

And then I woke up.

I don't know what to think. I am too skeptical. People speak of dreaming dreams, and I roll my eyes. They see angels, and I scoff. I doubt. I reason things away.

And yet, I can hardly ignore such a blatant message. Is He speaking to me? I can certainly do better. Obedience is hardly my strong suit.

Would he give me such a fearsome message to share with others? I fear for my friends and family who do not share my faith.

Pray for me today. Love to you all. Dee2

Purple Baby Mini Album

This is a sweet mini scrapbook album I put together using my scraps. As I have finished projects with the same color scheme I put them in a drawer together so I can later put together little projects like this with the scraps.

I found these sweet pink rub-ons on sale at Hobby Lobby in the clearance section. I got what I paid for because they were extremely difficult to use! Lesson learned.

Super simple with a little distressing. I hope you all have as much fun playing with your supplies this weekend as I did. DeeDee

Scrapbook Stash and Space

We are leaving on a mini-vacation soon and I don't have any new projects to share so I thought I'd show you a pic of my scrapbook space.

I had to stand on top of my dining room table to get this picture. It was easier than moving the table. :) That's the whole of it. I keep most of my tools in pencil cases that I found cheaply at Target during the back-to-school sales, and my current projects are on the black shelves with the paper and embellishments already laid out. The white shelves have my holiday supplies: Valentine's, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.

I usually work on my sewing table or on a corner of the dining room table. :) One day I will have my own space, but for now this makes me happy.

Thanks for stopping by! DeeDee

June ATC and Card Swaps

I started the month with good intentions of getting these swaps done early, but life has a way of crowding in. :) I am happy I had these to work on this morning amidst the laundry and serious lack of mojo. Hopefully they can help kick me out of this creative funk.

The first is for a card swap using this sketch.

The owl, tree, and flowers are supposed to represent the diamonds. I tried not to take the diamonds too literally as I don't really care for the shape. Wish I'd had a stamp for the greeting as my handwriting looks a bit tired. :)

The next swap was for Artist Trading Cards. They measure the size of a standard baseball card. I used the watercolor pencils I bought nearly a year ago, and had yet to use.

This month's theme was wings, and I tried to create something based on one of my favorite scriptures Psalm 17:8.

This is my husband's interpretation of the same theme:
He has titled it Owl League on the back. I think they turned out fantastic. :)

That's all I have for today. Happy scrappping! Dee2

Shabby Chic Lunchbox Scrapbook Tin

I just wanted to share some pictures of a custom order I made this week. :) This tin was made to coordinate with the other tin as the girls who bought them are friends. :) I was going for lots of layers, lots of bling, and a little bit shabby.

I used all different textures on the outside of the tin. I think they blended nicely. It was my first time using felt, and I need to research felt glues. Below is a peek of the inside. The first insert has a Maya Road chipboard crown that's been glittered and adhered over a blinged out photo matte. So cute!

Father's Day Album

This was my late night/ early morning project for the week. It just came together so easily. It's a Father's Day book. I did a lot of inking and distressing to give a more masculine effect. My hubby thought I should leave off the ribbon, but I told him a woman would probably be buying it.

I used the brown and red papers from this line to give it a more adult feel than the blue.

I was going for a double inked look with the title chipboard letters. Not sure how pleased I am wit the results. I think they look like wood grain. My Hubby says they looks like they're bleeding. Men! :)

Thanks for stopping by. Happy scrapping! DeeDee
