Tis the Season :)

55 days until Christmas Day is here, but the Holidays are upon us. My craft room is abuzz with snowflakes, gingerbread, and jolly laughter. I just couldn't wait one more day to start showing you all the happy crafts that have started to pop up.

This is Silly Sy the Snowman. With his new scarf, he's ready to try sledding the slopes. :) This is the elusive snow owl, almost ethereal in the shimmering snow.

Never too early to be forewarned. "He's making his list..."

Be there with bells on. :)
A sweet songbird so full of delight he shares his song with the Heavens.

A sweet water-colored bird dashing through the snow to build his nest.
All of these beauties, and some of their friends will be going to my etsy store this week. Hope you likey.
P.S. Happy Halloween. ;)

Sweet Princess

This is a layout I made for my friend Sheila with the adorable Princess papers from Imaginisce. :) She doesn't have space for scrapping right now so I thought I'd send a finished layout. It should be at her house today. Yay!

Otherwise I've been making some things for Christmas, and reading. Hope to get more posted soon. Dee2

55th Birthday

I have another Halloween album to share. I couldn't get to sleep two nights ago because my neighbors were throwing a rowdy 55th birthday party. (Not kidding.) I made this album while waiting for the police to come shut them down. :) I would have thought they'd learned better in 55 years, but apparently age does not always bring wisdom.

The little wand is probably some cheap dollar store thing, but it has delighted me for a month just sitting on my desk. That raven frame is a rub-on. Can't think of what company it is.
I used a mix of MME Night Light, Imaginsice, and Pink Paislee to put the album together.

That's some of the pages. I kept it pretty simple, but I liked it. Hope you do too! Dee2

Trick or Treat

The trick is that Halloween is still a week and half away, but it feels like Christmas is hovering right behind the next corner. Why do I feel behind even though I have months to get ready? Maybe it's all the Christmas stuff out at the stores.

I wanted to share a couple of projects that have been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks.

The first is a fun Halloween album using gorgeous MME paper. I plan to use this paper for my daughter's Halloween pics this year. :)

The birdie stamp is not really a Halloween stamp, but I thought it looked appropriately spooky.

The bling on the skull reminds me of the movie Goonies. That was a mental blast from the past. :)

The second project is this vintage inspired hanging tag.
The tag reads "It takes a long time to grow an old friend."
The back has a photo matte. It came out so soft and feminine.
Isn't that a great stamp?

Well, that's all I have for today. Hope you like! Dee2

All the Trimmings

Here is a bit of what I have been playing with this week. I have so much Halloween stuff left over from my personal crafts, and eBay designs that I needed a cute way to destash.

I just love these hand-painted clothespins. I figure I only need about 100 more. Want to paint them for me? :D Googly eyes make me smile every time.
Voila! They're together and they're in my etsy store.
Those Maya Road pins are dangerous. Ouch! I'm thinking about dipping the tips in melted wax to make them a little safer. Any better ideas?
See the ribbon on the bottom? It's my favorite of all the Halloween ribbon I found this year. It makes me think of dumping out my candy bag, and sorting through all the goodies with my brother after a long night of trick or treating.

Hope you like. I have more things to take pics of soon. :) Dee2

Fall Foliage

I wanted to share a custom order I worked on this week. She saw the Halloween tin, and school album I designed and was interested in having two albums created for her recent Fall Foliage trip. This is my spin on Fall.

The lettering took me about 4 hours to finally end up with what I have here, whereas the entire rest of the tin took about an hour. So annoying when I get stuck like that.
The giant metal leaf atop the tin is a score from Hobby Lobby. I wasn't sure how I'd use it when I bought it, but I just LOVE how it turned out.
I just love the apple green mixed with the pumpkin and fading leaf colors.
A place for some of her pictures.
I don't know what it is about hayrides, but mix them with a little hot chocolate and you have a perfect outing.
One of my favorite pages from the scalloped album. Simple, but beautiful.
I thought she'd enjoy this as she was taking time to really enjoy her surroundings, as well as the season.
I love back to school. This Fancy Pants paper is fantastic.
A little page for journaling her thoughts.
I have a couple other projects to share soon as long as my computer cooperates. Hope you enjoy! Dee2

Charity Auctions and a bit of Fluff

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month PFOP will be auctioning a recipe tin filled with recipe cards handmade by the team. The auction will be held October 8-18th, and some members will be hosting individual auctions for the cause as well. I have a couple of pictures to share of the recipe cards I donated. :)

Front of card 1.
Back of card with a space left open to add a picture of the prepared dish. :)
Front of card 2.
I have already seen some of the other designers cards, and they're really lovely. :)

My friend Shelley is also hosting a charity auction to raise money for a dog that needs surgery. She papered a photo frame, and titled it spoiled with the cutest little puppy embellishments. You can click here to see the auction and here to read more about it.

As for the bit of fluff, I went to an Artist's sale last Friday. It was like walking through all the very best stores on Etsy. There was hardly anything I wasn't tempted to buy. :) Alas as reality settled in that I don't have unlimited funds, I decided to go for one really great item:

It's a necklace that is maybe a tad too big for my taste in jewelry, but just perfect for my new craft room. I just love the scrabble tile with the D2 as I have signed my name thay way for nearly two decades. And though I personally don't make any claims to royalty, some might say I have an authoritative personality. ;) I still haven't decided whether I shall somehow alter the little white lady in the background. Thoughts?

This is a close-up of the pattern on my craft room curtains as someone pointed out they couldn't tell what they really looked like. I love how bright they are. Makes me happy every time I walk in there. There is currently a fluffy brown kitty napping in the one on the left, and a window sill of Little People animals melting behind the curtain on the right.

That's it for today. Hope you likey. Dee2

Happy October!

I have been stocking up on supplies for Autumn and Halloween so I need to get busy creating now that October has arrived.

My favorite of all the recent paper releases is this Halloween line by MME. My friend Jane said she wanted to see what I could do with it, so I decided to do a tin and album to show off the paper a bit. I just love how this project turned out. It is Halloween's version of Shabby Chic - I think. :) Doesn't this look like it needs to sit on a desk or coffee table?
Don't you love this Crepe Paper trim by PaperPanache? I pieced together dozens of these little flowers with my new MR diamond pins. They remind me of when I made leaf piles to jump into when I was younger - minus the pins of course. ;)It's a set, but there's still room for candy. I'm partial to mini Snickers myself.
I just love this velvet ribbon. I have it in several colors, and find myself wanting to tie it around everything. Don't sit still too long, or I might tie some around you too. ;)

I haven't listed it anywhere yet. Can't quite decide if I can part with it. lol If you think you can't live without it, send me an email! Dee2
