PFOPs Christmas Shoppe Challenge 2

This is my contribution to PFOPs Christmas Shoppe Challenge this week.

I used BoBunny's Snowy Serenade line on this album. When I saw the papers online I thought I'd pass, but they are so richly textured and beautiful in person. I was inspired to pull out the plum colors in this paper from reading the MoxieFabWorld blog. They're hosting a Plum Crazy Challenge, and it is my new favorite color as I am trying to embrace my daughter's love of purple.

 I tried to bring out the subtle burgundy and blue in the papers, and emphasized it all with plum cardstock.

Notice the burgundy flower? I made that myself with some ribbon, and a gold sprig from Prima. I think it turned out nicely.

I used vellum and pearls all throughout the album for snowflakes and scrolls. I was hoping it would give it a nice wintery feel.

Count Your Blessings

This is a little tag book I put together for our upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. 

I used some Library Pocket cards I cut out and layered them with Reminisce patterned paper. The pockets were a die-cut at my LSS. Not sure what system it's from.

I intend to go back and add stitching to all the pockets, but I was trying to keep it simple as a sample for the store. I stamped the title, and then I crackle painted over the top for some texture.

I will use the tags for each person to write what they're thankful for, and the other side is to attach a photo of the author.

I made one for each person who will be sharing our holiday table, and plan to just snap some pics and print them out that night.

A sweet table decoration that doubles as a memory keepsake. Hope this idea inspires.

Santa Paper Bag Album

This is a paper bag album I made last year. I finished out some of the pages that just weren't working for me.

On the cover I just changed to a bigger ribbon on the tags. I still like what I did before. You might see some small changes in style.

I dressed this page up with more layers on the paper strip, added some flourishes, and that yummy flower. If I could do it over again I might emboss the cardstock. Alas, my glue was not letting go. ;)

This was the only page that had to be completely redone. You ever have one of those, what was I thinking moments? Well, I glued over one. Haha. This is on eBay if you want to see more pics.

Is everyone else playing with Christmas crafts now? I have some altered projects I want to do as decorations around my house. I used to put my decorations up on my birthday (Nov. 29th), then the day after Thanksgiving, but now I have a hankering to get all mine out now. Is it too early? :) What if I promise not to play Christmas music yet?

Fall Paper Bag Album and Over the Top

This is the last of the paper bag albums I made a few weeks ago. It is a bit softer in color than the others, but still deliciously Autumn in hue.

I almost couldn't bring myself to use that Prima Rose, and the Stampin Up! ribbon that ties it closed. Please someone help me not become a supply hoarder. :)

Love this sweet Sassafras Lass paper mixed with the lacy trim.

Love the big yellow blossom - it has been sitting on my desk for months keeping me company. I had to replace it before I was able to use it. Haha.

Shabby Vintage Christmas Cards

I put these Christmas cards together recently. They came together quickly after I threw away the idea of stamping. ;)

This is the second card I put together. The first ended up crumbled in the trash. I was just trying to get an idea of where to go with the cards. It's a bit simple, but works for me. I was hoping the white Maya Road velvet bloom would remind one of a snowflake.

I found this image in a Crafty Secrets tag book. I thought it was super cute all on it's own so I kept the background simple.

A little distressed and shabby. Don't you love this ribbon? I have been unable to use it before now because it's too pretty! :)

I decided to play with a crinkled tag like I have been on my paper bag albums. I like the dimension it added.

Isn't this sweet? I thought the pink velvet ribbon went well with the little girls. I wish it would snow here in Tejas. Maybe for Easter? Haha.

Very Merry Vintage

It's finally November! I just love this time of year: cooler weather, hotter drinks, more time with family and friends, Thanksgiving, my birthday, reflections on faith and Christmas. We are one day into the holiday season, and I am ready to put up my Christmas tree. Sadly, I have been under the weather with a severe migraine for almost a week so I am mostly hiding under a pillow these days.

Here is a little something I worked on recently. I've decided to call this my Very Merry Vintage album.

I love the foamy white mixed with the snowflake blue. The vintage candy cane is another Etsy find, and don't you love the minty ribbons all pulled together on the spine?

I layered a mint-green vintage button with twine, vintage inspired lace, and a sweet happy holidays rub-on.

I find that when I am going for vintage - I just have to give myself permission to put on as many layers as I want - like an old woman who has passed the point where you can wear too much make-up.

Love the heavy metallic photo corners with the sweet blue image.

Oooh there's Santa sneaking out of the chimney. I hope he left lots of goodies.

Do you even want to know how many different companies are represented on this one page? I count 8! I'd give you a prize for mentioning them all, but 2 are really rather impossible unless you're one of the salesclerks that rang me up last week. :)

A few scallops to edge things out.

 

Can't wait to get a kiss under the mistletoe this year. :)
