Custom Baby Baseball Album

I made this sweet baby book for a friend. She wanted it for a shower gift, and knew that the mom and dad were going for a baseball theme. It was so much fun to put together! :)

Don't you love the felt baseball trim along the bottom? :)

Here's a few pics of my tiny sports fan. He loves baseball and football. This was him sitting with me to watch the superbowl this year. :)

Her First Facebook

During quiet time one day my daughter told me she was going to make a face book - a book full of faces drawn on construction paper representing the people in her kindergarten class. It is just too adorable so I thought I would share. :)

Thanks for taking a peek! :) Dee Dee

Paper Crown

As a fun project just for me I decided to make a paper crown for me and my daughter. :) This is what I came up with -

It's layered with die-cut patterned paper and trims by May Arts and Maya Road.
Isn't the tulle along the top so precious?

Super sweet trinkets and a large Prima flower to finish it off. :)
I also had my friend Stephanie and her daughter Zoey over to make paper crowns. The girls went crazy wanting to add everything to theirs, and I made Sofie cry when we couldn't agree on the design of her crown. Oops! Next time I promise to let her have creative freedom. :)

This little guy was with us too, but he was mostly banging spoons together in his own private war against the vacuum cleaner. ;) Thanks for looking!

Self-Portait ATC Swap

I hosted an Artist Trading Card Swap for Artsy Fartsy, the FB art challenge group I co-admin. Doing these small projects always inspires me to use my stash and to make art that's significant to me.

This was my ATC.
I started using y'all when I was waiting tables in college. Sometimes it still feels weird to wrap my mouth around the syllables. :) I cut the clothes from patterns I found in magazines. I love to wear color and patterns.

Nana's Brag Book on Maya Road Canvas

I made this for my mother using Maya Road's mini canvas album and trims.

I layered on Maya Road pink rosette trim, prima leaves, a vintage bottle cap, and a metallic flower. Then I cut out and attached a tiny tag with stickers to spell nana.

I painted directly on the canvas with distress paint, and stamped over it with Staz-on and baby feet.
This is a sweet Jenni Bowlin image I stamped with brown Staz-on and added some pearls for her necklace and a button with twine to replace the kite in the image.
I poured some Martha Glitter onto the Maya Road chipboard scroll, and layered it over some of their beautiful trim.

I stamped onto this sweet mini envelope, and layered it with a glittered chipboard heart and a dusty pink button.
Here's my sweet girl when she was about 9-10 months old with a chunky glass glitter chipboard crown.

I added more trim in the back in cream, and then painted the chipboard pink and inked over the edges and added sugary fine glitter to the top of it all.

Thanks for stopping by. :)

Sunshine Altered Paper Bag Album

I get a lot of request from local friends and paper crafters to put together seasonal paper bag albums and kits.  Since it is spring, I really wanted to focus on bright colorful layers.

I went crazy with the ribbons and trims. The Maya Road Zipper trim is a personal favorite of mine.

This cover has my daughter's current favorite colors.

Could resist adding this rolled ribbon flower from Maya Road.

I always stuff photos in this back pocket. :) These kits sold out quickly. Thank you to all who purchased one.

90th Birthday Banner

Creating banners is definitely one of my favorite design projects. I love to plan a party and a banner can set the whole tone. This banner was custom order for a client's mother's 90th birthday party. I loved the mix of creamy browns and dusky pinks. :)

I hope after the party she hung it somewhere she can see it throughout the year.

Custom Kindergarten Album

I was given the opportunity to put this kindergarten album together by a friend. I really enjoyed the theme, and worked late nights trying to get this finished with all the end of the school year things we've had going on.

This is the cover of the 12x12" album. I don't ever leave them plain! Chipboard holds up really nicely on the covers, and a bit of ribbon and some trinkets are such a nice touch. The trinket tied to the ribbon here says "inspire!"

It turns out the teacher I was putting this together for was teacher-of-the-year for her school. I created this special page to honor that. I didn't get a final pic, but I added a bit so it says "Mrs. Majer Rules!"

Close up so you can see some of the curling and dimension.

A layout with pics of the first day.
Spirit week - can you tell I have started using my Silhouette Cameo? I love it for cutting titles for my 12x12 pages. I am going to be able to catch up on so many pages for my kids with it!

Loved this Graphic 45 vintage school paper and look. Some more peeks at the pages below:

It was 20 pages when it was done, and so worth all the time it took. I hope Mrs. Majer likes this when she gets it this week! :) Thanks for looking!

Work In Progress Art Journal

This started out as a book, Black Beauty, from the dollar spot at Target. I wanted to do an altered children's book for a group of teachers that like to do a summer project, but I don't think they liked it. haha. Anyway, it has been morphing into an art journal about my love of reading. Here are some early pictures.

This is the cover. It still needs some work, but I am not sure what yet. I do like how it sort of just looks like a regular book with the Maya Road canvas page accenting the title.

I am planning to add in some patterned paper pages here.

I carved into the book, and started layering up.

I added this page of sticky-backed canvas, and have been layering onto is as the right pieces come to me.

I created a little pocket so I can slip this envelope in and out.

Check back for the completed pages! :)
