School Garden Signs

Our school recently replanted the garden and my daughter and I made a few signs to go along with the garden. :)

This one was made using their school colors. :)

We had fun making them together and it's nice to walk in the garden now and see the encouragement. :)

TX Homecoming Mum

Let me start off by saying, I'm not a native Texan.

*Gasp*

However, I do love Texas and I am married to a full-blooded Texan. You can always tell them apart by their deep TX love and swagger. :)

Loving Texas means loving highschool football and homecoming, and I do! When I was in highschool, I was introduced to homecoming mums by a friend's mother. She was aghast that I wasn't going to have a mum and took me to the (giant) craft store to buy all the trinkets to put together my first mum. I wish I still had it..

I had the privilege of putting together a homecoming mum for my niece. I snapped a few pictures to share with you.

She's a sophomore and plays on the varsity Volleyball team. *Proud Aunt*

I know. It's funny that they sell #1 in all the school colors. Texans don't care..

Go Skeeters!

I spent a ridiculous amount of time agonizing over the top of the mum, but I was happy with it in the end.

She plays basketball too. She's tall in case you haven't guessed. :)

That's my sweet niece on the right. She's been taller than me since Jr. high. Sigh.

Bonus pic - that's her looking intense on the volleyball court. Go #3!

Have you ever made a mum? I hosted a vintage mum swap a few years back, but sadly didn't get a full picture of the mum I created. Here's the peek I took..

You can see how much prettier they are with real ribbons and fabric.

Thanks for stopping by.

Love My Pet Paw Sign

Here is some cute pet swag I made recently.

Now I just need to figure out how to make one for my rabbit.. 😬

Altered Pumpkin Swap

Last month I participated in an altered pumpkin swap. This is the pumpkin that I made for my partner. I love how it turned out..
I created a stencil and painted the words.

It's topped with three different types of vintage and chunky glass glitter. Swoon. ;)

Boo in a Box Reveal!

It's reveal day for Boo in a Box Front Porch Kit. Yay! :)

I wanted to start by showing you my favorite project. There was a round silver pan in the box and I knew as soon as I opened it what I wanted to do. I painted it black and turned it into a door hanger for Halloween.
Originally, I was going to make it a chalkboard that I could write messages on, but I thought that might prove too tempting to those prone to tricks on Halloween so I cut out Trick or Treat from this cute polka dot paper (polka dots are my fave!) and used the negative to cover the center of the pan. I also attached a picture of my kids to one of the included magnets and made a little sign I can use if I run out of candy.
See the cute mesh turned into a spider web. The kit has lots of little 8 legged creatures included, but I could NOT get over my phobia and attach them. Seriously, I made my hubby dig them out of the box and take them to his class so I didn't have to see them again. *shudder* Don't judge. ;)
I also die cut some leaves from the other papers and embellished the pan with those and a straw.

I also embellished this cute acrylic treat bag. :)

I used the ghost and spooktastic stamps from the exclusive set included. The ghost is attached to wire and another ghost is glued to the back. I thought this would be such a cute gift for a coworker or teacher filled with candy.

I gathered some of the material with bling to embellish the bottom of the bag.

When I saw the magnets I thought of the blots on Frankenstein's head so I decided to create him using a mason jar. :) The eyes for both jars come from the chipboard alphabet included. I also used some of the leaves I diecut to dress up the inside of the jars. I wanted to include shredded black cardstock, but my shredder gave out seconds before I could put anything into it so I improvised and died some paper I had already shredded black to stuff the jars. These would make such cute gifts stuffed with candy. The eyebrows and scar are cut from the cardstock and the stitched mouth is cut from the skeleton. :)

A card to give with some of those candy treats being passed around in October. :) I cut out two moons and stitched a smaller moon to the top card.
These pictures are from a fall photo mini and my kids were rotten! lol They were eating the props and running from the photographer. At the time, I was upset, but now it makes me laugh because she really captured the essence of that age. :)

I  covered the layout in paint drips and dots of Glossy Accents to add a bit more texture and color.
Cute banner with layered stars, pumpkins, and sequins.

I thought the zigzag stitching was a nice touch. :) Meow!

The gold and green sequins reminded me of falling  and changing leaves. :)
I loved the curve of the bats in the kit and decided to stitch them to bring out the roundness of this layout.
