Chalkboard Block Ornament Tutorial

Christmas is coming! :) For the last few weeks, I have been working on advent calendars and making sweet ornaments for my tree.

Check out my Chalkboard Block Ornament tutorial on The Little Blue House blog today. This was my first ornament of the season. I bought all of my supplies at the Little Blue House in Keller. :)

Finally Fall

It's finally cooling down in North Texas and beginning to feel like fall. I am so looking forward to Thanksgiving and my birthday next week. My sister and one brother are flying in to spend the week with me. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year!

During the holidays, I see my friends and extended family more. My husband and I are more intentional about how we spend our time. This year we went to the fall festival at our church together.

In fall, we count our blessings and prepare our hearts for Christmas time. :)

This year I've been spending late nights making advent calendars. Every year, I get requests for them. People looking for ways to put the holy back in holidays and the giving back in thankfulness.

I'm going slower this year - giving my body more time or rest. Allowing my spirit more time to dwell on the meaning of our celebrations.

One tradition I joined again this year is the Little Blue House 12 Days of Ornaments countdown. I'm day 11. :) I hope you'll follow along the countdown with me.

I love handmade ornaments for my tree. This year I bought some tags and intend to mark all the ornaments with which kid made them and what year before too much time passes and I forget.

I hope you're enjoying fall and looking forward to Thanksgiving. Happy crafting!

Happy Fall Y'all

I have some fun projects I've been working on the last couple of weeks as Fall finally flutters into Dallas. Look for a blog post next week with treats from The Little Blue House.

A little something I made for a friend who always counts down to Pumpkin Spice season.
A Fall floral crown I made for a photo shoot.

Fun sign for my mantle. I love decorating with pumpkins! Every year my family goes to the store and we each pick out pumpkins for our rooms. :)

More soon. Happy Fall Y'all!

Happy Home FPK Reveal Day Three

This is my final project from the Happy Home Front Porch Kit from The Little Blue House.

The first thing I have to tell you is I made a fence out of the wooden shutter pieces included in the kit because it never occurred to me that they were shutters! LOL I think everyone except me got it. Oh well! They make the perfect little white picket fence.

Try not to look too closely at my stitching. My sewing machine was having a fit when I started this project and would not relent. It always seems to know when I have a deadline..
This is a die cut included with the kit which I thought was adorable. :)

Super simple and sweet. It measures about seven inches tall and six inches across so I won't have to trim pictures much to add them in.
I still have a lot of product left over so I may add some more detail to my album as I add pictures.

Thanks for checking out all my projects! If you'd like to order a lot for yourself, orders are being taken on the website at
or you can stop by or call the LBH  at 817-431-7930

Have fun!

LOVE FPK Reveal Day

It's reveal day!

Introducing "The Greatest of These is LOVE" Front Porch Kit from The Little Blue House - with products from Crate Paper, a Reverse Confetti exclusive stamp set, Maya Road (yay!!!), American Crafts, Pink Paislee, etc..

This kit is full of product!

Without further ado, here's a few of my projects :)

I knew these pics of my son would go perfectly with the black cardstock and pops of pink from the kit. I love the Polaroid frames - they were perfect for stamping and writing on.

One of the patterned papers looks like paint samples. I had to cut out the blush to go with this picture! My tiny love is so shy. :)

Okay, before you look at my double layout, let me preemptively apologize for the bad photo quality. I really need some tricks and tips for shooting pics of those..
This brother and sister layout makes my heart all squeezy. Right now she is his protector and he adores her.
The background paper is stamped with pink hearts using the RC stamp set, and I cut the wooden wings in half and adhered them with Glossy Accents. The golden title is cut from the metallic paper in the kit.

I colored in the words from the patterned paper to give my page a bit of journaling.

I colored the heart ribbon with Dylusions Ink spray. The folded heart is inked and layered with a punched out tan and a stamped heart using the Reverse Confetti stamps included in the kit.

The golden bow was the first thing in the kit to catch my eye! :) I'm loving the gold trend. I was noticing it clothes shopping and thrilled to see it popping up at LBH. :) Here's an ornament I designed.

This is made from the packaging from the letters included in the kit. I painted it with distress ink and layered papers and the Polaroid frame with the picture of my daughter.

I also made two Valentine's Day cards.

Cut the heart from the floral patterned paper, trace with Stickles, and stamp another heart onto white cardstock and adhere with popdots.

I have wanted faith based stamps for a long time so this RC set was perfect! I stamped the "Faith, Hope, and Love@ and then colored it in with a Distress Marker.

I layered in the embossed envelope and ribbons from the kit.

I have more to share tomorrow. :)

You can purchase this now ($41.95) www.thelittlebluehouseonline.com
